Helpful Tech Tip from a Persistent DIY Classic Industries' Customer:

Challenge: Couldn't get 1947-53 Chevrolet/GMC Truck Fuel Sending Unit 12-Volt w/o Fuel Pickup Line (part # CX4935) to Work with 1950-53 Chevrolet/GMC Truck In Dash Fuel Gauge (part # CX1718) 12-Volt

"I have been having an awful time trying to get my new 12-volt gauge to work. After buying two gauges and two different 30 ohm senders and talking to different people on your tech line, I finally figured it out. During the restoration of the cluster, I painted the inside as original. But, the new 12-volt gauge has a circuit board unlike the six-volt factory unit. What happened is the painted surface insulated the gauge from the cluster and it didn't complete the circuit grounding through the dash. If future customers have the same issue make sure they clean the paint off where the solder on the circuit board contacts the inside of the cluster."

"Thanks for your help."

Sincerely,

A Satisfied Classic Industries' Customer
